About UpcomingIPO
Who runs this site, how it is paid for, and exactly where every number on it comes from — so you can decide how much weight to put on what you read here.
Who publishes this
UpcomingIPO is written and run by Vinod Shekokar, independently. It is not affiliated with NSE, BSE, SEBI, any registrar, any merchant banker, or any company whose issue appears on it. Nobody pays to be listed here, and no listing, ranking or figure on this site can be bought.
It is a one-person site. That is worth knowing when you weigh it against a newsroom: there is no analyst desk behind it, and the reason almost everything published here is either a direct exchange figure or an arithmetic derivation of one is that those are the things a single person can stand behind.
How it makes money
Advertising, through Google AdSense. That is the only revenue source. There is no paid content, no sponsored placement, no affiliate link to any broker or demat provider, and no arrangement under which any issuer, registrar or intermediary influences what appears here.
Ads are placed between sections rather than inside data tables, and never above the figures a page exists to show. If that ever stops being true, it is a bug — please report it.
Where each number comes from
The single most important thing on this site is the line between official data and everything else, and it is drawn deliberately on every page.
Official exchange data
- Subscription
- NSE and BSE category-wise bid data, refreshed every 30 minutes while an issue is open. Shown with the exchange named and the time it was fetched. Where an exchange publishes bids but not the shares reserved, the multiple is shown as — rather than as 0.
- Price band, lot size, dates
- From the exchanges’ own public-issue feeds.
- Listing price
- The opening price on listing day, read from NSE’s and BSE’s official daily bhavcopy. The listing date is the security’s first appearance in it.
- Anchor allocation
- Extracted from NSE’s anchor allocation report, and published only when the rows reconcile exactly against the total the document itself declares. Where they do not, we link the filing and show nothing.
- Exchange & regulator news
- NSE circulars and SEBI notifications, checked every two hours. We hold the headline and a link; the filing stays where its publisher put it.
Not official
- Grey market premium
- Quoted privately by dealers, not recognised by SEBI, and not a market in the shares at all. We aggregate several public sources and publish the modal value with the number of sources behind it. Treat it as sentiment, not a forecast — and see our running accuracy record, which includes the issues it got badly wrong.
- Derived figures
- Implied listing price and implied gain are arithmetic on GMP, so they are exactly as reliable as GMP is. Issue size is the share count at the cap price where the feeds do not publish a rupee figure. Allotment and refund dates are derived from the close date on the standard timeline until the registrar confirms them, and are marked as such.
What this site does not do
- No advice or recommendations. Nothing here tells you whether to apply for an issue. We are not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser or research analyst, and nothing on this site should be read as either.
- No “subscribe / avoid” ratings. A one-word verdict on an issue is the part of an IPO site most likely to be wrong and most likely to be acted on.
- We never ask for your PAN, demat or application number. Allotment checks deep-link to the registrar or the exchange, so those details go to them and never through us.
- No tips, no groups, no paid signals. Anyone contacting you in this site’s name offering those is not us.
Mistakes and corrections
Data on this site is assembled by automated crawlers from third-party feeds, and those feeds change without notice. Errors happen. If you find a figure that looks wrong, please send it with a link to the page and we will check it against the exchange’s own filing.
Where a figure cannot be verified, this site is built to show nothing rather than a guess. If you see a number that seems too confident for its source, that is worth reporting too.

Privacy
Analytics are first-party and deliberately minimal: no IP address and no user identifier is stored against a page view. Visitor counts use a salted digest that rotates daily, so it is not possible to follow one person across days or work backwards to an address. Signing in is optional, uses Google, and is never required to read anything. Google AdSense sets its own cookies, which are governed by Google’s policies rather than ours.
Grey Market Premium is an unofficial, unregulated indicator traded outside the exchange mechanism, and SEBI does not recognise the grey market. Nothing on UpcomingIPO is investment advice or a recommendation to apply for any issue.
